Description:
The Charleston Christian School seeks a middle school ELA teacher for the 24-25 school year. This is a full time position. The Charleston Christian School is a Christian school located in the West Ashley area of Charleston, South Carolina. The school serves students in grades K-8, and averages around 150 students.
Charleston Christian School (CCS) is a K-8 covenant school. As a covenant school, we partner with Christian families to teach knowledge, wisdom, and values from a Christian perspective. We are a small school that has experienced significant growth over the past few years. CCS seeks a highly motivated Christian teacher who has a heart for middle school students and is passionate about the subject matter.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching middle grades students. The most successful applicants will fully agree with the mission of the Charleston Christian School.
A degree in education or language arts is required.
Classroom experience is preferred, but not required.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong and growing faith in Jesus, and must be a member of a church.
Plan and design literary units.
Teach literary, grammar, and vocabulary lessons using a variety of methods and learning techniques.
Record grades, lessons, and behavior in our online management system (FACTS-SIS).
Effectively manage a classroom of students.
Maintain an organized classroom.
Communicate with parents regularly.
