Mom Mentor With the addition of new CCS families, we are looking for established CCS moms to mentor new moms. You will be a resource for a new mom when she has questions about the school.
Prayer Warrior CCS greatly values its prayer warriors. Ms. Chandler leads a CCS prayer meeting once a month. This is a time to lift up our praises and prayers to the Lord. The school has seen amazing results in the past few years which is all due to covering the school in prayer. If you would like to participate in our prayer meetings, please let us know the best time for you to meet.
Christmas Program CCS hosts a Christmas program every year in December. Volunteers for this program help with decorations, program snacks, printed programs, and any other assistance to the program director.
Spring Program Are you creative and like to use your talents through music and drama? Details on our CCS spring program will be coming soon. We can use volunteers for administrative tasks, promotions, costumes, and transportation.
Ladies Night Out Are you a social butterfly? Do you like getting to know other women? We need you! This volunteer will plan a quarterly ladies' dinner out for CCS moms and teachers.
Men's Night Out We are looking for a dad to plan a few outings for CCS men. Examples include a cook-out, a sporting event, fishing, etc.
Church Liaison CCS has many churches represented among its families. We'd like a parent from each of our represented churches to provide information on events. This volunteer would inform his/her church about CCS events, as well as inform CCS about any special church events that would be beneficial for the CCS family.
School Rewards There are many businesses, including grocery stores, which promote school rewards. We are looking for someone to register CCS with grocery stores and distribute reward tags to parents to use when shopping.
School Promotion Do you love to meet new people? We would love for you to help spread the word about our school by passing out brochures to local preschools.
After-School Clubs CCS is always interested in expanding the list of extracurricular options for our students. You can contact individuals and/or companies to gather information for providing after-school activities. Examples include chess club, drama club, running club, etc.
Teen Pact Coordinator Teen Pact is a Christian led group that hosts students at the state capital every April. It teaches students about government and how to have a Godly impact in our political arena. We need a volunteer to organize details to help promote the attendance of this event. Teen Pact offers a one-day seminar for 3rd-7th graders and a four-day conference for 8th graders.
Room Parent Our teachers need the time and energy of dedicated volunteers who can support their efforts in a variety of ways. Room Parents work under the direction of teachers to assist with class events, such as class parties, throughout the year as well as school-wide projects and events such as the family picnic. Room Parents may also be called on to assist teachers with classroom responsibilities such as helping with a science experiment or art project. We would like to have at least two room parents per grade.
Fundraising CCS PTF has one major fundraiser each year to cover all of its expenses including those for events like Family Picnic and Teacher Appreciation Week. The efforts of the PTF simply would not be possible without funds gained through our fundraising efforts. In addition to committee members, we are looking for someone who is interested in spearheading this fundraiser. This important committee always needs volunteers to assist with planning and executing fundraising activities.
End of Year Celebration (May) As the school year draws to an end, this action-packed event is always a great time to spend with our students and CCS family. Volunteers are needed for food donations (hot dogs, buns, cookies, etc.), food prep, set-up, monitoring games, and clean up. We also need a volunteer from each class to walk with the students to each activity. Prior to this event, we need volunteers to secure a water slide, jump castle, dunking booth, snow cone machine, etc. We will also need someone to pick up/return the dunking booth and snow cone machine. (Sign up for specific tasks will be online closer to the date of the event.)
Volunteer Workroom Our teachers need help cutting, stapling, and gluing for their upcoming classroom activities. The volunteer workroom is where our teachers drop off their work requests and our dedicated volunteers fulfill those requests. Volunteer on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis for a few hours at a time. Let us put you on the Volunteer Workroom Schedule!!
Baking Are you handy in the kitchen? We may call on you during the school year to provide special treats for various events. This is a great opportunity to make an important contribution without being on campus.
At-Home Work Requests (aka “Volunteering-To-Go”) There is always enough “homework” to go around!! Many teacher work requests like cutting, sorting, and stapling can be done at home and returned to school for delivery to the requesting teacher. If you can’t volunteer during the school day and would like to help in a big way, sign up to complete at-home work requests. We’ll notify you by email if needs that arise and send the work home to you for completion.
Teacher Appreciation Committee (May) We love our teachers at CCS and want to show them how much we appreciate them. Are you willing to help organize a week of fun and food for our teachers? We need volunteers to send in breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, etc.
Graduation Committee (May) Graduation is a special night where we send our amazing eighth graders on to their next endeavor. We need two seventh grade parent volunteers to plan this event. The past volunteers will pass the torch and all the specifics to guide you in making this night special.
Library Help This is a simple way to volunteer. We need someone to reshelf books and help keep our library organized.
Office Are you skilled in the Administrative Arts? We need you! We can also use help with filing, answering the phone and the door, running errands, assembling admissions packets for potential new families, etc.
