Picture Day 2024
Picture Day is Thursday, September 19. Students can dress up for pictures, but this is not a dress down day. Students can wear their uniforms if they prefer as well. Jeans should not worn for pictures.
We will also take volleyball pictures. Please send your daughter's volleyball uniform, including knee pads and tennis shoes, to change into after the class photos. They must change back after the team photo.
We are looking forward to seeing all the beautiful and handsome outfits! Let us know if you have any questions.
Hot Lunch Ordering
Hot lunch starts today, September 9. Ordering is now open through the Family Portal via a web browser or our new app! This video will walk you through how to order (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OjBpY9krc8&t=52s) via a web browser. The full menu and prices are located on the Family Portal.
Hot Lunch Schedule

Lunches must be ordered by noon the day prior. Lunch ordering is turned off at noon for the next day. If you know you will be absent, you can delete your order before noon the day before. However, if your order has not been deleted, you will be charged for it through FACTS. If you have any questions about hot lunches, please call or email the front office.
Harris Teeter TIE Program
Did you know that by shopping at your local grocery store, you can help support the school? When you purchase select Harris Teeter brand products using your VIC card, Harris Teeter contributes a percentage of those purchase dollars to the school of your choice, CCS! There are no additional charges or costs for you to participate. Just follow the steps below!
There are three ways to link your VIC card:
- Ask the cashier at checkout or customer service desk to link your VIC card.
- Link your VIC card online at https://tie.harristeeter.com/together-in-education
- Fill out this form, and we will do all the work for you. All we need is your Last Name, Phone Number connected to Harris Teeter and/or VIC card number.
You can also have family members and friends link their cards also. Send this form to them to fill out, and we can add their information also!

Parent Night
CCS Families,
CCS parents are invited to attend our Parent Night next Monday, August 26 at 6:00 pm in the Grace on the Ashley sanctuary. Parent Night is a great opportunity to hear about this school year’s upcoming important events. It’s also a great opportunity for teachers to touch base with parents on their initial observations. Specifically, our middle school teachers would like a few minutes to connect with middle school parents after the initial presentation. After the presentations, parents are welcome to meet with teachers in their classrooms. Meet the Teacher is geared towards students and Parents Night is geared towards parents. Please note: The gym will be closed for cleaning during the event.
The Family Handbook is attached for those who want to go over it before Parent Night.
We value our partnership with parents and Parent Night is a great opportunity to strengthen that partnership.

After School Care
After School Care (ASC) started on Wednesday, August 14 and will continue through the school year until Friday, May 16, 2025, on full days of school. Ms. Asnip (kindergarten assistant) and Mrs. Roy (3rd grade teacher) will be taking care of the children who stay in ASC this year as they did last year. The fees have increased this year. They are now $15 per afternoon per family. Please see the details below and let us know if you have any questions.
- Any student not picked up by 3:30 pm will automatically be moved to ASC
- Students moved to ASC will be billed starting at 3:30 pm
- The program begins at 3:30 pm and ends at 5:00 pm
- Fee: $15 per day, per family
- There is a one-time $30 enrollment fee that you will be charged after the first time staying in ASC
- Fees will be due on the 5th of the month
- CCS will charge a late fee of $1 per minute if students are picked up after 5:00 pm
- Location: Lower Elementary Playground/Kindergarten Classroom
- Park and pick up around the Lower Elementary Playground
First Day of School
Good afternoon CCS Families,
Below is information about the first day of school and beyond. You will see information about drop-off, pick up, after school care, hot lunches, emails, and more.
Before drop off tomorrow, make sure to stop by the front of the school and take some photos with the photo frame and welcome back signs!
Morning
- Drop off starts at 8:00 am
- School/Classes starts at 8:15 am
- Students are late after 8:20 am
- Gym doors will close at 8:20 am
- You can walk kindergarten and first grade into the school by parking near the small playground and walking to that door, the front door, or use the carline.
- 2nd-8th can be dropped off at the gym doors or walked into school through the front doors with parents
- Do not stop, let students out, or park in front of the school. Please use the parking lot and walk students into the building.
- Please drive slowly and safely around the school.
Afternoon
- Pick up starts at 3:15 pm
- Please see the attached map for exact pickup spots for each grade level
- Please communicate with the office and your child’s teacher in writing or email before 8:30 am on the day that your child needs to be dismissed early
- There are two lanes, one for passing and one for picking up (Map attached below)
- Map may be adjusted after the first week or two of school for safety reasons
- Please drive slowly and safely around the school
After School Care
- Starts on Wednesday, August 14
- The program begins at 3:30 pm and ends at 5:00 pm
- Any student not picked up by 3:30 pm will automatically be moved to after school care
- Fee: $15 per day; additional child in the family free; $30 enrollment fee
- Fees will be charged to your FACTS account
- CCS will charge a late fee of $1 per minute if students are picked up after 5:00 pm

PE
- PE day is Wednesday for all grade levels.
- PE will start on Wednesday, August 14.
- Gym uniforms are required for 5th-8th grade.
- They are optional for K5-4th grade.
- Do not mix and match uniforms. PE tops must be worn with PE bottoms.
